what are these files - tmp748e.tmp, tmp1d48.tmp, tmp17ce.tmp

Hi All, 

What for these files - tmp748e.tmp, tmp1d48.tmp, tmp17ce.tmp are used which I found at a location: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.4013.4013.105\Data\Definitions\VirusDefs. Can we delete these files to create some space in our machine? Does it worth to keep these files.
