For the past 10 days some 30-40 machine have been affected by a new Symantec.cloud AV Update.
Users are calling in, due to machine running very slow.
On Right click it can frequently take 1-2 mins to load
Resolved this by runnung shexview-x64 and disabling the symantec addon
Internet explorer will crash as soon as the browser is loaded
Resolved by Disabling the Norton Add-on
Machine slow in general - When we look in Resource Manager the Disk is locked at 100%
2 Files are being written to very heavily
distrptr.dat and distrptr.log
A Log out and login as admin, run the live update appears to resolve the problem for a while, but it will then come back.
The above has worked on 80% of the machines, but we have had to re-image the rest.....

"Symantec is aware of both of these issues with the right context menu and the distrptr.dat file. The next version of the av agent will include fix's for both of these issue. We are expecting that version to be released in the next 30-60 days. Please let us know if you have any additional questions."
