I've heard that opening .ZIP files can be dangerous.
Problem is that clients really hate to have these files filtered or quarantined. The interruption to business is too painful they will say.
Because I don't want to test out what would happen if I opened a loaded .ZIP file, I was hoping others in the community should share their understanding of this threat, what happens when a loaded .ZIP is opened, is it immediate etc, or, does the end user need to then open the compressed file for the threat to occur?
If there are Symantec documents that explain the dangers or, other resources on the Internet that can be reviewed and then fowarded to end users so they could make a better decision about this threat, that would be really helpful.
