Full disk encryption on HP Compaq 6305 MT

Hi,

I have an HP Compaq 6305 MT running Windows 8.1 Pro x64 and I'd like to encrypt the disk with Symantec Encryption 10.3.2. I've checked the pre-requisites as suggested in this article >> http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH203071

However, the system comes out of the box with three partitions on the same physical disk - a 10 GB recovery partition, a 100 MB boot partition created by the Windows 8.1 instlallation, and the OS partition (the rest of the disk). Should I be removing the recovery patition prior to encrypting the disk? Also, I'm not sure what to do with the 100 MB boot partition since it's created as part of the OS install.
