I will be migrating SEPM from a Win Svr 2008 to Svr 2012 system (with a different IP address & hostname). Just have a few questions:
- I have backed up the database, it's over 5GB. If I delete some of the installation packages from SEPM Admin - Install Packages will it reduce the db size?
- The "Disaster Recovery File" mentioned in the DR article, I can see 2 on my current server with different date stamps. I don't ever remember creating these, does it matter that the latest one is dated last year or do I need to generate an up-to-date one (and if so, how do I do that?)
- What's the best way to stop and start SEPM services?
- If I want to upgrade SEPM to the latest version (currently on SEPM 12.1.4023.4080) as part of the process, can I just install the latest version on the new server then add the new server in the current server's Management Server List? (also, would this work if trying to restore my DB and DR file onto a newer version?)
