Doscan.exe does not work

I tried running Doscan.exe from the directory where it was installed.

First, it said that it could not find doscanres.dll.

I found that dll and moved it into the doscan.exe directory.

Then I got the error alert that it "failed to find a signature".

So, how do I get a simple command line scan to run?

And, here is the directory where the doscan.exe file resides:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Inetpub\ClientPackages\3139d8e33829af0f38894a73acef8067\FULL\Program Files\Symantec\Name\Version\Bin\DoScan.exe

Is there a reason why this illegible path is used to hide the utility? Why not put it somewhere it can be found?
