SEP network threat protection blocks Epson drivers, even when disabled

Oui, j'ai besoin d'une solution

I have a Win7-64 system with SEP 12.1.5 RU5.

The sytem has drivers installed for an Epson Artisan 837 printer/fax that is accessed via Ethernet on the same subnet.  Before installing SEP, printing. scanning, and faxing from the PC to the printer all work flawlessly.

After installing SEP, printing and scanning still work fine, but faxing from the PC is blocked and fails.

(When I say faxing fails, it is the communications between the PC and the Epson that is failing.... manuall faxing from the Epson still works, it is just that the fax driver can't talk to the Epson)

So I installed Windows on a clean test system, installed latest Epson driver, and SEP, but did a custom install of SEM and left out network threat protection.  Faxing to the Epson works.  Add network threat protection, and faxing doens work.  Remove network threat protection and faxing works agin.

I created firewall rules to allow EVERYTHING both to/from the Epson's IP address, and even a separate rule to allow everything to/from the Epson's MAC address.  Still no joy.

Now the odd part.  Even if I completey disable  network threat protection, faxing from the PC to the Epson still fails.  If I uninstall network threat protection, faxing to the Epson works again.

Suggestions?
