Symantec DCS 6.5 SA and Guest Network Protection Protection Capabilities?

Hi - It's not really cleared from the documenation on the NIPS piece of DCS 6.5 SA. Can someone please share with me what type of threats are covered using DCS 6.5 SA Guest Network Protection? Can it block cross-site scripting (xss), SQL injection and other types of attacks using this service? What about virtual patching using this?
