I am moving SEP from a windows 2003 server to a 2012 R2 server and I have been reading up and the instructions to do so appear to be clear and I don't expect any issues. But, at the same time I would also like to move from an embedded database to SQL and again I have been reading those instructions and if at all possible I would like to do all of this at the same time. Has anyone done this?
I'm thinking during the new install of SEPM I can tell it to do a SQL installation and then when completed I can use the Symantec database tool to restore to the SQL database from my embedded backup. Is it this simple or is there more to it? The moving the database from embedded to SQL has some unique steps when it comes to the recovery files so I'm a little unsure.
