Is it possible to remove a SEPm 12.RU5 replication partner and reconfigure it to replicate with a new SEPm server?

Oui, j'ai besoin d'une solution

This question looks to be asked and answered in 2010 but I'm a bit unclear with the solution.  Can someone please explain what steps I need to follow.

  • I currently have PROD SEPm (server A) with replication partner DR SEPm (server B)
  • I have built a new PROD SEPm (server C) new hostname, new IP, and imported all important policies from server A (no DR processes used)
  • I have migrated clients to server C via communication update package deployment
  • I would like to remove replication on server B, and then reconfigure it as a replication partner with server C
  • After that I want to decom server A

Is this scenario possible?  All servers involved are SEPm 12.1RU5, and the reason for not using the backup/restore method is that my original SEPm server has been in-place upgraded many times from SEPm 11X through 12X on 2008 R2 and we wanted to start fresh with server C on windows 2012 R2. Worst case I will just build additional SEPm (server D) and make that the new replication partner.

Please advise and thanks
