How do I configure a working dir for Liveupdate other the /tmp

As above, I have a need to define a diffrent working dir for liveupdate other than /tmp.
I now their is a value to be set in /etc/liveupdate.conf. 

So my questions are:
1) How do I change this value as /etc/liveupdate.conf is encrypted
2) Can I configure this on the SEPM when exporting the install pacakge

I tired found this article and tired it putting a new dir in when creating the liveupdate.conf file. This did not work
