Oui, j'ai besoin d'une solution
With all of the questions surrounding TrueCrypt we have started evaluating other solutions. In doing so I found Symantec Encryption Desktop. I've downloaded the evalutation copy but I'm unable to get it to work the way we used TrueCrypt. I'm hoping I can describe the way we use TrueCrypt and see if anyone knows if it's possible to do the same thing with the Symantec Solution.
With TrueCrypt
- We encrypt a 1 TB USB Hard Drive.
- We connect this drive to a Windows Server in a secure location and share it.
- On a different computer where we actually move the files to the drive, we install TrueCrypt and map a network drive to the share on the Windows server.
- We then mount this volume with TrueCrypt and move files as needed.
I was able to encrypt a thumb drive with Encryption Desktop but it doesn't seem to pick up on mapped network drives. Does anyone know if this is possible? Thanks for your time.
