Create install package that doesn't trigger liveupdate

My desktop engineer has created an autobuilt which seems to be breaking when liveupdate triggers at the end of the install.  I know he script his build to trigger the heartbeat via smc -updateconfig when it is done with it's other tasks however I'm not sure how to build a package that doesn't automatically trigger liveupdate at the end.  (12.1.4)
